  • Green homes are ecological homes
No home can be built without the consumption of the land area. The land could have been used for cultivation or any other nature conservation purposes in case. But this is a very rare ideology been generated ever in the human beings. The buildings and the constructions have become ineradicable elements from ones life. The construction leads to the pollution of the air to a great extent and sometimes it may extend to the water and the sound pollution as well. The love and inclination towards nature could not be justified with the stoppage of the construction of buildings as a whole, since it is also counted to be a part of the overall development as well. However this ideology is not practical, man has instead found another way out to conserve the nature. The building of homes is unavoidable and hence a different strategy has been adopted where through the building itself, nature can be preserved. Such buildings are called the green buildings. This ideology is applicable in the building of homes as well. The green homes thus built will not only be a positive step on the part of the nature but also on the part of the human beings as well. The materials used will be eco-friendly and the home will be best suited for the environment and the nature. Thus a green home is a home which goes hand in hand with the natural world. Studies have also proved that green homes and buildings do increase the productivity of the inhabitants. They feel more energetic and rejuvenated, being at these houses when compared to a normally built house. The remodeling of the house is also easier when compared, and will be an added advantage both on the part of the nature and on the part of the human beings. The materials used for building will always be in accordance with the health of the inhabitants. Minimum use of non-renewable materials is one of the prime features of the green homes. Thus the use of wood will be also minimized ands instead mud bricks and finely shaped stones will be used. These materials can withstand the climatic changes and responds accordingly. This response of the materials towards nature also affects the health of the human beings in a positive way as the materials are not artificial and are directly from the nature itself. Thus for a Green Home Builder (http://www.cdbmd.com), it will be a bit risky to get the materials for the building. The light and air passage is also taken into account. Thus in every sense the green home can be called ecological homes.

  • AC Mahogany & Rustic Brown
Just had to try the new Mahogany color. It's a bit more red than I would have liked but it is a nice color. I tried several scenarios with the RB but the Rustic Brown / Mahogany won out with the customer. It will be a nice addition to the palette for the future. This was a very old 27yr old PT that needed extensive sanding.

  • Heeeeeeelp!!
I washed a cedar deck that had Olympic WaterRepellant stain on it. Strictly light cleaning to kill mold and mildew. Used 12% cut down to 2%, with Dawn soap like we always have. I have done hundreds of these on decks that we put the stain on as part of our maintenance programs. We did not stain this deck. It was pouring rain when we did this. As we applied the cleaner...the deck stain appeared soft...I was leaving footprints in the stain. I gently flushed with a chem nozzle and half the stain washed off the decking...the spindles were ok. Customer is pissed! They stained it 2 years ago, shady area, and they think it looked good until I washed it and it is now all my fault. Stain is so thick on this cedar that you can hardly see the grain. I know that stain too thick will absorb water and get soft. What do I tell these people....I do not want to give them a freebie as I suspect they will want. I want to edjucate them and make them realize I did nothing wrong.....or did I? I am meeting with them tomorrow so....HEEEELP, PLEASE!

  • I love Insurance
So I was out on a job finishing up a big cedar deck when I check my phone and see 3 missed calls and 2 voice mails. At first I was thinking I’m in trouble or something but turns out its some lady who almost sounds like she is crying asking if I could wash her house. So I call her up and there was a storm that went through their town and the insurance was paying for her house to get washed before the guy comes out to assess the damage. Got the call Tuesday evening, had it finished in 2 hours on Wednesday (my day off). Who knew you could get 0 for a house wash? Oh it was a referral as well!
